From The Mixed Up Files Of "A"


What: Potentially reusable envelopes.
Origin: Various bills, etc.
Usage: I do re-use these sometimes, but haven't dipped into this file with my business records, maybe since I set it up.
How long kept: 2+ years?
Why kept: Aargh! They Might Be Useful. They are Perfectly Good.
Destination: Recycling

  1. Last coupla years I saved all the financial envelopes with their patterned insides, to make despairing collages over the economy. It all was bad news coming in them, and I tried to make lemonade out of lemons. I don't know WHY The New Yorker didn't want them for the cover! I no longer save them,but I still have a stash. For a future post.

  2. And the amazing Mary Ann Moss has had over 450 women, worldwide, using security envelopes to make "remains of the day" journals...including moi. I have to confess to checking for any envelopes with distinctive security markings. Red is particularly rare, in my experience...
