There's a stain on his notebook where his coffee cup was

Well on his shirt anyway (black black black coffee on his shirt). Now I'm going to have Squeeze running through my head

What: a leaky sealing coffee cup
Last used: last week
Origin: swag from a vendor at my work
Why kept: been forgetting to blog it
Destination: recycle

This is Tuesday's post

  1. Squeeze is one of those bands that is so great in my memory. I'm afraid that if I try to listen to them now, not so much -- so afraid that I haven't tried.

(I had a bad experience once with Steely Dan. Sigh.)

  2. "Tempted" still holds water, or coffee...

  3. "Black Coffee In Bed" is a soundtrack for a particular week or so one summer in Chicago. S/PDX (are you lurking?) and other friends had an apartment in Hyde Park.

(At the time, not the home of the President of the U.S. but home to legions of unwashed University of Chicago students, living in spacious, but barely habitable apartments, that are probably now sleek condos.)

One of the roommates was never there -- and I mean she was never even in Chicago, I don't think. Maybe it was a fake apartment because she was really living with a boyfriend somewhere? At any rate, I stayed in her room for a few days. I had never lived in an apartment before, it was very heady.

Nice memory. For 99 cents on iTunes, maybe I should risk the possible disappointment!

  4. I have a memory to go with the song as well--loved yours. I have the album, but alas, missing a component that will allow me to play my turntable. A quality of life issue I intend to fix this summer. We got the beat!

  5. Sadly, I blogged a turntable quite some time before the start of this project...via freecycle. It was broken but I believed fixable -- an apparent DJ picked it up, drama free.
