"This mortar and pestle was a gift, maybe 20 years ago. I think I used it to (try to) grind some star anise, cardamom, things like that. But never seemed to get the hang, or rather, swing, of it. I couldn't get into the groove, or grind of it. My little coffee grinder is much handier, and this guy ended up being a paper weight for printed- out recipes floating around the kitchen. I think I will re-gift it for a friend who really loves all things wooden. And I'll put that blizzard of recipes under something else...like my coffee grinder."
