Rx for saving the water hole

What: expired prescription meds
Origin: mail order prescription in 2008
Used: until early summer 2009
Why kept: out of site
Destination: my local health department disposes of expired and unneeded medications. Please check with your health department before flushing them down the toilet. Flushing them affects the water supply.

You're probably too young to remember 3-Mile Island...I contributed to some profiteer selling something that supposedly coated your thyroid (from the radiation)...you know, for when the fall-out wafted up to NYC from my hometown, Harrisburg. I kept it for about a decade, then finally tossed--who knows where? The compacter at 201 Eastern Parkway, in Brooklyn, most likely. Now, for the next go-around--will MediCade cover? If this bill passes, I'm eligible, I'm over 55. Woo hoo!
